Friday July 24, 2026 7:00pm - 8:00pm PDT
When the Captain of the Enterprise states that the mission is "to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no one has gone before"—what is the real-world translation of such a statement? Science fiction powerhouse Roddenberry Entertainment has brought together some of the preeminent scientists from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and experts in astronomy to break down what making contact with alien civilizations might entail and how we are working to make this science fiction fantasy into a concrete reality. Additionally, exclusive never-before-seen interview footage of Star Trek: First Contact actor James Cromwell (Zephram Cochrane) will be featured to spark the panel discussion on the science-fiction "realities" of making first contact with alien species. Panelists include Rekha Sharma (Ellen Landry, Star Trek: Discovery; Tory Foster, Battlestar Galactica), James Tuttle Keane (co-investigator for the NASA Discovery Io Volcano Observer mission proposal; NASA New Frontiers New Horizons mission science team member), and Jordan Ticktin (aerospace systems engineer), with moderator Tamara Krinsky (Marvel Live; Does it Fly?).

Friday Hall H and Ballroom 20 Panel Playback
Friday July 24, 2026 9:00pm - 10:30pm PDT
Didn't get into either Hall H or Ballroom 20 today? The pain is real. Do you like stuff? Of course you do! Motorcycle enthusiast Tommy Goldbach (programming coordinator for Comic-Con) hosts this block in which Comic-Con will rebroadcast some of the day's popular panels from those two giant rooms. Best of all, those in attendance will get to vote in a show of applause on what they want to see. It's democracy at its finest, and it's a second chance to see these panels. These things always run smoothly and flawlessly . . . (Please note: These playbacks will include only the panel discussions. No trailers or clips from films or TV shows will be shown.)
