Together with showrunner and writer Jordan Blum and their comics co-creators, they discuss building stories like Minor Threats, Witness Point, American Caper, The Guy in the Chair, Count Crowley, and Kingdom of Earth, what it is like juggling writing duties with their co-creators, what they love most about the medium, and more. He showcased New York City—disguised as Central City—in his classic comic series The Spirit. Readers are falling for the bad guy in bold numbers these days, but crafting a villain worth rooting for takes effort. Authors Abigail Owen (Games Gods Play), Addie Thorley (Burn the Kingdom Down), Amalie Howard (Queen of the Night Sky), Christine Ma-Kellams (The Band; associate professor of psychology, San José State University), Jayci Lee (Nine Tailed), and Sajni Patel (A Drop of Venom) discuss what truly draws attention and gets readers rooting for villains, whether they want to be them or be with them.
