When the mysterious behemoth known only as Bane frees Batman's entire rogues gallery from Arkham Asylum, the Caped Crusader is pushed to his mental and physical breaking point. Rick Morales (supervising producer), Jim Krieg (producer), and Michael Mando (voice of Bane), along with other members of the creative team, discuss the multi-part animated event from Warner Bros. Animation, DC Studios, and Warner Home Entertainment, bringing to life one of the most iconic sagas in Batman comics. Based on characters from DC and the DC comic book event Batman: Knightfall by Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, Alan Grant, Dennis O'Neil, Peter David, Jo Duffy, Jim Aparo, Graham Nolan, Norm Breyfogle, and Jim Balent.

Avatar Origins: ATLA Legacy and Future

For over a decade, the Avatar fan panel has been a cornerstone of the SDCC experience for Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra fans. Hosted by Kimberly Ezeama (Avatar Origins) and Nadar Scott (Avatar Origins), this revival continues the tradition with a panel created by fans, for fans, celebrating the franchise's impact through conversations with series professionals and community voices, including Sigung Manuel Rodriguez (technical advisor and choreographer for Toph), Sifu Joshua Rodriguez (martial arts instructor), Karsin Gowdy (ATLA ultra-fan), DJ Welsh (animator and artist), and Ariirin (ATLA cosplayer). Programming includes discussion of the show's enduring philosophy, trivia, a cosplay contest with prizes, and a look at the future from the fans' perspective.

Hirokatsu Kihara (Studio Ghibli production coordinator, 1985–1990) shares behind-the-scenes stories about the making of Castle in the Sky, accompanied by original drawings and anecdotes from the production process. He is joined by Comic-Con special guest Yôichi Nishikawa (Howl's Moving Castle), a background painter on every Studio Ghibli film since Howl's Moving Castle and an art director at Studio Ponoc, Studio Chizu, and more, who will offer additional insight into the artistry and legacy of Studio Ghibli films.

For those unable to get a seat for the live Masquerade in Ballroom 20 if it fills up, or who just prefer a smaller crowd and the Sails Pavilion is filled too, this big-screen simulcast is for you. In 1974, Comic-Con added a costume contest to its events, and it's been a part of the convention ever since. Watch as the Ballroom 20 stage becomes an amazing cosplay competition of impressive, re-created, and original design costumes crafted by talented attendees. Emcees will once again be five-time Hugo Award-winning writers and artists Phil Foglio and Kaja Foglio, with intermission entertainment from The Saber Guild Star Wars performance group and The Corps Dance Crew.
