Horror comics began as shocking page-turners with twist endings, but they soon became so much more. From ghosts dishing out supernatural punishments for moral crimes to cautionary tales where arrogant and cruel killers suffer the bloody consequences of their misdeeds, the panel will discuss the real-world impact of horror comics and how they have evolved to the present day. Moderated by Eisner nominee and The Atonement Bell writer Jim Ousley, panelists include BJ McDonnel (director, the Foo Fighters' Studio 666 and Slayer's Repentless Trilogy), Bill Field (author/director, horror historian), Seth M. Sherwood (writer, Leatherface and Hell Fest), Gregory Plotkin (editor, Get Out, A Quiet Place: Day One), Phillip Kobylanski (producer, Hell Fest and Lore), Derek McCaw (host of the Fanboy Planet podcast and Monsterverse Comics' Bela Lugosi's Tales from the Grave), and Jordan Barel (graphic novelist, film editor).
