In the mid-20th century Japan was on the verge of collapsing. Intervention by foreign nations forces soon became an occupation, then the Boundary War started using autonomous drone mecha called AMAIMs. By 2061 the war ended but Japan was divided into four occupied zones where native Japanese are treated like second-class citizens. During this upheaval and unrest, a young boy Amō Shiiba uncovers the rogue autonomous AI Gai, and abandoned AMAIM Kenbu. Amō using them can possibly change the course of history for himself and Japan.
