Founded in 1977, Spike & Mike's Festival of Animation became the theatrical launching pad for legends including John Lasseter (Toy Story), Pete Docter (Up), Nick Park (Wallace and Gromit), Tim Burton (Vincent), and Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo) before any of them were household names. Decker and Barber trace the origin story from a Victorian communal house in Riverside, California, to a 50-city North American tour, exploring how a pair of scrappy film lovers changed the course of animation.
